The Macular Society, the leading authority on macular central vision loss, asked WeClick Media to create a new website that would help raise awareness of macular conditions, support people suffering with vision loss and raise money for research.
We started by making a simple user experience the core of the site. The charity needed to cater to doctors, patients and donors, which meant a variety of information and donation routes, including a secure shop, had to be easily accessible.
We built a temporary microsite using WordPress while the new website was designed and built using Drupal CMS, a more robust yet easy-to-use system. This meant we could get the society’s online presence off to a good start before the final site was complete.
By using Drupal CMS, we have been able to integrated with the Macular Society’s CRM and add the Google Maps API to create an interactive events calendar.
Since launching the site, we have been giving ongoing support with the charity’s SEO and PPC, increasing natural search traffic 64% Year on year.
